Letter from Tim Reid, POCC Senior Coach 2010/11

Dear Members,

My name is Tim Reid and I have been appointed senior coach for the coming 2010/2011 season. Over the past six to eight weeks I have met quite a few members already and in due course look forward to meeting all of you.

From discussions with Dale Harbinson, he tells me the club is full of fantastic people with a lot of young talent who are looking to take the next step to play finals in the coming years. I am excited to be able to assist the Club in becoming one of the benchmark teams in the Box Hill Reporter competition.

To become a top team we all need to be consistently professional, on and off the field from the First XI all the way down to our Milo kids. I want to introduce set routines at training and on game day in all grades. I would also like to implement the Big Brother competition at the club which involves a junior player (from the 14s and 16s) being teamed up with a senior player as their Big Brother. Each player earns points for their team, based on their game day performance. Big Brother teams will be advised towards the start of the season and the winning team will be presented with a trophy at seasons end.

Pre-season Training DatesPre-season training will commence on Thursday 5th August at Saxon Sports, which is located at 64 Cave Hill Road Lilydale (next to Hystress Trusses). Training will start at 7.30pm sharp and run until 9.00pm at a cost of $5 per head.

Players are pleased asked to confirm their attendance for each session (via SMS) to Dale, Tim Haynes or Tim Reid.

I am looking forward to taking this coaching role on and working with all the players to bring the club success. I hope to see you all at pre-season training wearing club shirts. If you are unable to attend training please contact either myself (0411 011 210), Dale Harbinson (0419 503 511) or Lachie Parsonage (0429 686 717).

Regards,
Tim Reid
